McGregor Reads One Book
On Thursday, April 11th our students enjoyed a Pep Rally at the High School to kick off our Texas Reads One Book. Our book this year is Friendship According to Humphrey. Mrs. Lenamon had the HS cheerleaders performing chants and cheers. Then Mrs. Allred & Mrs. Mickey introduced their classroom pets - a bearded dragon & hamster. Afterward, Mrs. Tina Cruz & Sophia spun out on a human hamster wheel and got students "wheel-y" excited for reading! The Pep Rally finished with students getting their own copy of the book and listening to Jason Garrett, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, read chapter one.
The children along with their parents and teachers will read a chapter each night, and the children will have daily chances to answer trivia questions to earn prizes.
Thank you to everyone's hard work on this project and to all who had a helping hand in preparing this event for our children. Also, a BIG THANK YOU to the McGregor ISD Education Foundation for supporting literacy and making this event possible with their generous grant!
